The day when I was introduced to ERIC LUBISI, will be one of those jewel moments in my life.
LUBISI, the person? What can I say …..? A man, a magnificent artist with a vision to share.
Grateful & humble in his ways, searching, looking & finding the greater meaning of life.
Being Positive is one of his characteristics. Truly an uplifting experience when you find yourself in his presence.
Forthcoming in his attitude towards man, he never shies away: Freely sharing knowledge & wisdom and loving advice for aspiring young artists.
Meeting the man, ERIC has an air of quietness, peace and tranquility. He has the ability to keep everything calm and relaxed. Every time I have leave his presence, I leave with the feeling that I am so fortunate to know this person.
ERIC LUBISI had been through the worst and the best that our country had to offer.
His testimony about his life, experiences and travels would be an excellent subject matter for a book. The world must know what a Great Artist came from African soil.
Like ERIC LUBISI, what I really appreciate, about all ‘my’ artists is that they share- unconditional love & extreme respect for our land, its people and animals.
No judgement will ever come from ERIC LUBISI, whether it is about gender, race or religion.
A free spirit that lives and let live.
Still now in his 70’s he is open to learn and experience life like a young man.
Relentlessly, he is sending his messages through his art.
“Take care of each other and Mother Earth’!
As a huge lover of art I could not wait to show my father the art of ERIC LUBISI.
That night Adriaan Boshoff said: “Now this a true ‘Expressionistic-Surrealist’ South Africa can boast about, very hard to find these days”.
Of all aspirations of life and culture
Protector of hopes, dreams and wishes.
ERIC’S art instills a respect in us for MOTHER-EARTH and all of her creatures.
With his vibrant colors of Africa he paints from his spirit. He reaches our souls and consciousness in kind ways. (Exactly like the man he is).
ERIC LUBISI’S ART IS A PRAYER AND ENCOURAGEMENT TO THE CONSCIOUS
TO THE AWAKENING OF THE CONSCIOUSNESS.
No man is an island we need each other to make this earth work.
ART-LOVER ART CURATOR……..………Louis Boshoff-Erasmus
(In 2016 at his 70th life anniversary THE UNISA ART GALLERY HONORED ERIC LUBISI WITH A MONTH LONG EXHIBITION.
His achievements and contributions to Art was & still is quite outstanding and acknowledgement was due).

Elsa’s art is an extension of herself and through her art she has been able to channel her emotions and life experience to grow as a person within herself.
Her main genre of work are Wildlife, Symbolic Expressionism, Emotionally Expressive Portraits and Nude Studies with her medium of choice being acrylics.
“A work of art usually begins with an emotional idea. Similar in approach to a filmmaker, I decide on the right subject and location, and then embark on an adventure that will provide me with the necessary experiences to capture the character of the piece. I have however discovered that in the end, art always reveals more about the artist than the subject. To paint something – to capture a moment frozen in time – only to have it live again when viewed by others is one of the greatest joys of being an artist.”
Well versed in various genres and mediums, she shares her knowledge with other through her art classes.
Over 30 years in the creating of Art, Elsa Cornelissen became an acclaimed South African Artist, with a serious number of international collectors.
With a BA in Fine Art at the University of Pretoria as well as (H Ed) in 1980, she has taught art at various high schools and technical colleges. Elsa had many one-person and group exhibitions. Gave private art classes to adults and children. After several years in teaching, she gave it up to devote herself fully to painting professionally.
“I am humbled by their presence every time I see them, by their spirit, their unique beauty and individuality. My ultimate aim is to depict them in their natural state of total unawareness of the onlooker.
I hope that each painting will be a timeless expression of their existence – that special fragmented rare moment – where/when the viewer can experience a rare moment of oneness with that animal.
My aim is to communicate our close bond with animals from the beginning of time, they co-exist on this planet, and we must express a mutual respect towards fellow creatures by conserving this planet and its inhabitants.
Each painting is seen as a tool to communicate an emotion. I would like to give each animal life through my painting, and by doing so evoking a powerful emotion.
My aim is to convey a message, evoke an awareness of the uniqueness not only of a species but of every individual animal whether it be a leopard, a lion or a zebra. I hope that looking at my art, a deeper serious urge will descend in each individual’s consciousness – a need to protect, to conserve each animal – and by doing so be consequently enriched.
Elsa Cornelissen is an acclaimed artist who has been in the business for 30 years, with a BA in Fine Arts as well as (H Ed) at the University of Pretoria.
Elsa’s Art have been exhibited at The Safari Club in Rheno, Nevada for several years, as well as Madrid, Spain and in Florida, Vero Beach and Marco Island, Memphis Tennessee, and are in private and corporate collections worldwide.

After many years, privileged to have seen each Art-piece of Anton Dk, I am still submerged in his Art.
The ‘SPIRITUAL & FANTASY MIND’ of Anton is a marriage in his head. Messages, actually TEACHINGS, are portrayed in patterns, lines and symbols like only a true Spirit of Africa can.
The colours of Africa is his knowledge.
After long hours of sketching & designing, the images gets transferred onto wood panels (sometimes using up to 4) for perfect effect.
Painstaking every line is burned-engraved by a hot iron tool. Not at all easy, because utmost precision is required.
The bold colours of water, fire, earth and sky of AFRICA is then meticulously applied. Finishing the works into ‘DANCES OF COLOR & LINE’.
Dedicated, as all the Artist that I love, this humble, extreme hardworking Artist never boast, always hoping that the next one will be better…..… “That is how Artists grow!”
Anton Dk’s art represents the FRUITS OF LIFE; UNCONDITIONAL- LOVE, HAPPINESS, UNDERSTANDING, PATIENCE, PEACE, JOY, KINDNESS, GENTLENESS, CARING, HONESTY AND SELF-CONTROL.
With his unconditional-love, every man, animal and plant is equal & treated with utmost respect.
An “AFRICAN RENAISSANCE ARTIST”, they call him. Uniting the spirit of Africa with the rest of the World.
Knowledge and the urge to teach, pleading for the understanding of UNCONDITIONAL-LOVE, will give us the pleasure to enjoy the magnificence of his Art.

Artists like Ruddha, brings us into a new world we find ourselves in, through Visual Art in a magnificent way.
True Artists with the amazing knowledge and experience in digital & photographic aspects, brought forth a NEW ART FORM which is part of our NEW WORLD.
They have the ability to control art without limits. This art can be captured on canvas, paper or metal.
Photo manipulators will always surprise us with their talent, creating a surrealistic fantasy world.
They are fast gaining public recognition worldwide.
“I love Ruddha, for his sincerity and unconditional love for Mother Earth & her Spirits, I only have the greatest respect. Passionately always he is repairing and uplifting tired souls. Immediately in his presence you realize that you are now surrounded by a strong positive energy.
I thank all the Powers that be, because now, more than ever, we are in need of spiritual guidance and universal understanding”…. Louise”.
The driving force behind the creative spirit of artist/musician Ruddha, is a deeply-sincere vision, a heart-felt desire to help humankind awaken to its true spiritual nature.
This, he says, is the calling of every sentient being on Earth: the realization that we are here, in the physical realm, to rediscover our spiritual origins and, indeed, our Awakening to them.
“It is my mission,” he says, “to facilitate Spiritual Awakening by means of my art and music.”
He explains that his visual art is often inspired by his music and vice versa: When he receives the inspiration to write music, for instance, he often reacts to this inspiration with a work of visual art – “an extension, in this physical realm, of the process of inspiration,” he says. A Veritable interaction with the higher realm portrayed in the media of both art and music.

It must be around 10 years ago when Gert Potgieter walked into my World of Art.
Although having been involved with art for many years, it was through his work and teaching that I was introduced to sculpting with steel. I learned about the technical difficulties in working such unwilling material with tools designed for industrial use. I learned about the exhausting hours it take to manipulate, even the smallest piece of steel, into finally becoming sculpture. Mostly however, in my line of work, I have learned how little the art market knows and unfortunately understand, about steel sculpture. I have since dedicated myself, to the best of my ability, to change that with the assistance of Gert’s work.
When looking at a good work of art, usually only a few words are needed to describe ones attraction. A few words that follow spontaneously at first sight. To me, “Life” and “Light” jumps out of the sculptures of Gert Potgieter. “Light”, has not only reference to the energetic play of surface quality, but also his ability to make such inherently heavy material seem weightless – like floating on air. “Life”, refers to the content of his work. Everyday life as is experienced by all of us on a daily basis, the poor, the ignorant, and the naive – everybody has a place in his work.
I have learned over time that this, wonderful down to earth artist, is just not extremely talented, most intelligent, but also totally fearless. Once a happening or situation becomes part of his consciousness, he will not stop at anything to portray it in such a manner that we all can understand.
I call Gert’s Art, “Monuments”. His care for everyday people and their situations, whether created by nature, government and their politics, businesspersons and their economics, he will not hesitate to sculptural confront by creating works that are indeed, “Monuments for Society”.
This book reflects on his life as a person and as a sculptor. The two cannot be divorced as he lives the same life he sculpts. He does not leave life behind when he enters his studio. It enters with him. It is within the confines of his single garage studio filled with cobwebs and smell of grid and iron that he will object to inhumane conduct in the most direct and truthful manner by cutting, grinding and welding this age-old material in a way no one has done before. It is here, behind his welding apron and typical red bandanna where steel is given a voice to speak, to tell a story about matters that so conveniently tend to pass us by until his sculptures so often creates the proverbial rude awakening.
